It’s been a big year for Roman Reigns as he made history when he crossed 1,000 days as champion and he is still holding the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. The Tribal Chief hasn’t defended his title since he defeated Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania 39, but he’s expected to defend the belt at Crown Jewel.
Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that it feels like WWE is setting up John Cena vs. Roman Reigns at WWE Crown Jewel next month. Bryan Alvarez also speculated that Cena could be facing Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel because WWE tries to book big main events for the Saudi Arabia shows because of the money they’re paid.
John Cena has been getting involved in Bloodline business over the last few weeks and he’s currently set to team with LA Knight at Fastlane when they face off against Jimmy Uso & Solo Sikoa.
So far Roman Reigns is undefeated against John Cena as he defeated Cena at No Mercy in 2017 and SummerSlam in 2021. We’ll have to wait and see what direction WWE decides to go with Roman’s opponent for Crown Jewel, but it looks like a third match with Cena could be an option.
