Anything can happen in the WWE and a few weeks ago fans saw Triple H unveil the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The title was introduced so that Raw could have its own world champion as Roman Reigns has been holding both the Universal Championship and WWE Championship for quite some time now.
Recently The Tribal Chief celebrated 1,000 days as Universal Champion, and it sounds like he could be celebrating in a big way. Fightful Select is reporting that as of Thursday there were plans for Roman Reigns to celebrate his 1,000 day title run on SmackDown.
It’s also being reported that there were memos that mentioned a “New WWE Universal Championship.” It was also noted that the plans called for there to be a podium where the “New WWE Universal Championship” would be revealed. The presentation was noted as being similar to The Rock unveiling the new WWE Championship in 2013.
Creative is of course always subject to change, but it seems that the new title belt has been discussed internally. Stay tuned for more updates on Roman’s Universal Championship reign as they become available.
