The road to WrestleMania hasn’t officially kicked off yet, but business has already picked up in the world of WWE over the last few weeks. The Rock recently returned to tease a match with Roman Reigns which certainly got fans talking. Now everyone is waiting to see if the match will take place at WrestleMania, but it sounds like The Rock could potentially return to the ring before the Show of Shows.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that CM Punk and Cody Rhodes are the current favorites to win the Royal Rumble match with Gunther, LA Knight and The Rock following.
It’s also being reported that the idea of The Rock entering the Royal Rumble match late and winning was discussed in past years when the idea was that he would headline WrestleMania.
The Great One entering the Royal Rumble is not something that’s been advertised, but it could be a possibility. One way or another the decision to enter the Royal Rumble will be completely up to The Rock.
So far Cody Rhodes, CM Punk, Shinsuke Nakamura, Drew McIntyre and Bobby Lashley have all been confirmed for the 30 man Royal Rumble match later this month. Stay tuned for updates.
