John Cena has been one of the biggest names in professional wrestling for decades now, but sooner than later his in-ring career will be coming to an end. The former WWE Champion made a surprise appearance at the Money in the Bank premium live event last month, and he announced that he will be retiring in 2025.
Cena went on to clarify during the post-show press conference that he will be working from January through December next year. He said that he hopes to work between 30 to 40 dates, so it seems that we could potentially see John Cena face a variety of different opponents.
The WRKD Wrestling account is reporting that John Cena vs. Gunther is currently penciled in for Cena’s retirement tour. It’s being said that the bout will likely be a marquee match at a premium live event.
When it comes to potential opponents for John Cena there is no shortage of wrestlers who would like to face him. Names like CM Punk, The Miz, Rob Van Dam and more have noted in recent weeks that they hope to face off against Cena one more time before he officially retires.
One way or another John Cena’s tour is shaping up to be memorable. Who are you hoping to see John Cena face on his retirement tour? Sound off in the comments below.
