This week on AEW Dynamite, Orange Cassidy defended the All Atlantic Championship against Luchasaurus and PAC and a triple threat match, and it was Cassidy who walked out with the gold.
After the match NJPW’s Katsuyori Shibata made his return to AEW and it was announced that Orange Cassidy will defend the All Atlantic Championship against Shibata on Rampage.
Dave Meltzer recently discussed future plans for Shibata on Wrestling Observer Radio while noting that in addition to his match with Cassidy, Shibata also wants to face Bryan Danielson.
“Shibata told AEW that he had two matches he wanted in AEW – Orange Cassidy and Bryan Danielson. So they are going to work on doing both of them. Obviously, this (Cassidy) was the first one. And he’s free this week, so they made it this week.”
Stay tuned for more updates on plans for Bryan Danielson as they become available.
