There are some big names on the WWE main roster at the moment, but at least one top star has been missing since WrestleMania. Drew McIntyre last appeared on WWE programming when he faced Sheamus and Gunther in a triple threat match on the Grandest Stage of Them All back in April which has left many to wonder when he could return.
PWInsider Elite is reporting that there has been a push within creative to bring Drew McIntyre back into the storylines by Money in the Bank weekend. It’s being said that meetings were held last week to discuss pitches for Drew McIntyre’s potential return to TV.
The big crux between WWE and Drew McIntyre at the moment is how he will be used when he returns to TV and how meaningful his storyline will be. WWE wants Drew McIntyre back by Money in the Bank weekend it’s not guaranteed that he will be back by then as it comes down to whether or not the two sides can agree on future plans.
Money in the Bank is set to take place from London, England on Saturday, July 1 so if McIntyre does return to the mix for the event then it sounds like we could be seeing him sooner than later. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
