Possible Spoiler On Former Champion Returning At The WWE Royal Rumble

We’re only days away from the annual Royal Rumble pay-per-view, and as always the event is one of WWE’s most anticipated shows of the year. There’s been a lot of talk about who could make a surprise appearance at the show, and it looks like another name has been added to the list of potential returns.

Fightful Select is now reporting that there are several talents in WWE who believe that Asuka will be returning in the women’s Royal Rumble match. WWE has been tight lipped about plans for Asuka, and while it hasn’t been confirmed that she will indeed be returning for the women’s Royal Rumble her name was at least discussed internally as a potential entrant in the match.

Asuka has not appeared on WWE programming since she competed in the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match in July of 2021. The former Raw Women’s Champion has been away from WWE battling an injury, and there have been few updates regarding her status. Despite Asuka’s name being mentioned for a possible Royal Rumble spot it has not been confirmed whether or not she has been cleared to return to the ring.

It was also noted that sometimes even major talents aren’t told they’re needed for the Royal Rumble until the day of the show, so nothing is confirmed until they actually appear. The Royal Rumble will air live on Saturday, January 29th. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
