WrestleMania season is almost here which means there’s going to be plenty of talk about what matches could end up on the card. WWE is expected to pull out all the stops for the Show of Shows next year and it sounds like a huge match is already being discussed for the event.
Fightful Select is reporting that Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk has been heavily discussed for WrestleMania 41. It was noted that as of a few weeks ago that wasn’t the plan, but plans had been adjusted. It was noted that the match is also something CM Punk had hoped for.
CM Punk and Roman Reigns have history as Punk infamously stated that he was told to “make Roman look strong” when they faced off in January of 2014. Ahead of CM Punk’s return last year Roman Reigns was reportedly not keen on the idea of Punk returning.
It’s being said that this is a drastically different direction compared to what had been planned for both CM Punk and Roman Reigns a few months ago. None of the previous plans involved The Rock, but if The Rock informs WWE that he wants to be involved with WrestleMania then the belief is that much of the card could change, including plans for a possible Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk match.
