We’re officially on the road to WrestleMania and Elimination Chamber is the last premium live event before WWE’s biggest show of the year. Cody Rhodes won the Royal Rumble last month and it’s been determined that he will be challenging Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship at WrestleMania 39.
Since WWE only has one world champion at the moment it was recently announced that Austin Theory will defend his United States Championship inside the Elimination Chamber.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Austin Theory taped a television show that airs in March which shows him holding the United States Championship belt. This doesn’t 100 percent mean that Theory will be retaining, but it’s worth noting.
It’s been rumored that Austin Theory is set to face John Cena at WrestleMania 39. However, that match hasn’t been confirmed just yet. WWE Elimination Chamber will air live on Saturday, February 18. Stay tuned for more updates as they become available.
