WrestleMania 40 has come and gone, but the two night event gave fans plenty to talk about. Gunther defended his Intercontinental Championship against Sami Zayn on night one and Sami Zayn managed to end Gunther’s historic reign when he picked up a major victory over the Ring General.
Gunther has not appeared on WWE programming since he dropped the Intercontinental Championship to Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 40 and he was noticeably absent from Raw the next night. Now it looks like we could be seeing Gunther sooner than later as WrestleVotes is reporting that the former champion is set to return on Monday’s episode of Raw.
On the latest episode of Monday Night Raw, Sami Zayn successfully defended his Intercontinental Championship against Chad Gable in the main event. Gable then turned heel after the match when he attacked Sami which would seem to indicate that their feud is far from over.
One way or another it will be interesting to see how Gunther fits into the IC Title picture once he returns to the red brand, or if he ends up going in a different direction once he’s back on TV.
