So far 2024 has been an action packed year for the wrestling world and it doesn’t look like things are going to slow down anytime soon. This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite continued the road to the Revolution pay-per-view and it was also revealed that Tony Khan is set to make a major announcement on the February 7 episode of Dynamite.
Dave Meltzer discussed the big announcement on Wrestling Observer Radio and noted that Tony could be announcing an AEW show in Boston and the debut of Mercedes Mone. There’s also speculation that Kazuchika Okada could be part of the announcement.
According to Meltzer the announcement was originally set to be made last weekend on Saturday, but the thought was that AEW didn’t want the announcement to get lost in the shuffle because everyone is talking about the Vince McMahon lawsuit.
One way or another next week’s episode of Dynamite is shaping up to be an action packed show as Darby Allin & Sting will be challenging Big Bill & Ricky Starks for the AEW Tag Team Titles and Swerve Strickland will face Adam Page in a match to determine who will challenge Samoa Joe for the AEW World Championship.
