Adnan Virk took over announcing duties on Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania 37, but Virk’s run with WWE has come to an end already as the company announced yesterday that they mutually parted ways with Virk. Now everyone is waiting to see who might end up replacing him on Raw.
PWInsider is reporting that Tom Phillips seems to be the obvious choice due to the work was doing before he was replaced, and also because he still works for the company both behind the scenes and doing other broadcast work.
However, it’s also being said that former UFC and American Ninja Warrior announcer Jimmy Smith is also being considered for the job. Smith worked with WWE at NXT TakeOver: Stand and Deliver last month, and he has reportedly been putting in a lot of work in order to be prepared for future broadcast assignments with WWE.
At this point if WWE has made a decision in regards to who will be taking the spot on Monday it’s being kept very close to the vest so far.
