WrestleMania Week is one of the most anticipated weeks of the year for wrestling fans all around the world, but this year the schedule will look a little different.
NXT TakeOver will not be taking place on the Saturday night before WrestleMania this time around. Instead WWE will be going back to the old format which featured TakeOver on Friday, and the Hall of Fame induction ceremony on Saturday.
ROH and NJPW will be holding the G1 Supercard at Madison Square Garden the night before WrestleMania, and the event is already sold out.
There’s been speculation that WWE moved TakeOver so that the event wouldn’t have to go head to head with the G1 Supercard, but it looks like there may have been more to it than that.
Rajah reports that one of the reasons why WWE moved the events is because WWE officials feel that having the Hall of Fame ceremony between TakeOver and WrestleMania could help improve attendance for the event.
Last year a lot of fans skipped the Hall of Fame ceremony on Friday, and simply showed up to WrestleMania Week for TakeOver the night before Mania.
