SummerSlam has been one of WWE’s biggest annual shows for decades now and it’s set to get even bigger in 2026. WWE confirmed recently that SummerSlam will be a two night event in 2026 and it will take place from US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, MN.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that one aspect behind the decision to make SummerSlam two nights is that if WWE decides to take WrestleMania overseas to locations like London or Saudi Arabia this would give them a similar major weekend event in North America.
When it comes to major events WWE has been trying not to run them as long so they don’t become six hour shows. It was noted that the two night format for WrestleMania has been a huge success, and the goal is to get cities to buy the show to bring in tourism money as people who travel are more likely to stay in the city for multiple WWE events such as SmackDown and Raw if they’re held in the same market.
