Seth Rollins won the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 34, and ever since then he’s been proudly defending the title week in and week out on Raw and on pay-per-views.
Dolph Ziggler challenged Rollins for the belt this week on Raw, and to the surprise of many Dolph ended up winning the title to become a 6 time Intercontinental Champion.
Seth Rollins has been on a roll, and he’s certainly upped the value of the IC Title in recent weeks, so his loss to Dolph Ziggler was shocking to say the least.
Kurt Angle also announced on Raw that a multi-man match will take place at Extreme Rules to determine who will be Brock Lesnar’s next challenger for the Universal Championship, and so far only Bobby Lashley and Roman Reigns are confirmed for the match.
According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE may have had Rollins drop the title so that they could free him up for a main event spot.
Rollins is set to challenge Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship on Raw, so the outcome of their match will obviously be a good indication in regards to whether or not their feud will continue.
