Possible Reason Why Mike Kanellis Has Been Kept Off TV

Maria and Mike Kanellis made their WWE debut back at Money in the Bank a few months ago after making a name for themselves in both Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling.

The wrestling power couple was a huge signing for WWE and were set to take the place of current Raw “It Couple” The Miz and Maryse when they were drafted away from SmackDown Live, but that plan has changed somewhat over the past few weeks.

The former TNA X-Division Champion recently came clean about his battle with prescription drug addiction and the fact that he is working on his recovery, but it seems that this isn’t the reason why The Power of Love hasn’t been spread on SmackDown Live for a number of weeks.

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer this week he stated that Mike’s recent drug problems are not the reason why WWE has stopped using him.

It seems that the reports about WWE being unimpressed by Mike’s first few months with the company had some truth to them and now WWE have decided to step back from the push that was originally planned.

Mike failed to impress WWE exectives off the bat and this is why there are no current plans for a push into a storyline for the popular couple. Maria and Mike have been used on WWE live events over the past few weeks instead, so the budding star is still being used, but they don’t currently have anything for him on WWE TV.
