The WWE roster is loaded with talent right now on both Raw and SmackDown Live, but not everyone can work in the main event. However, the next two WWE pay-per-views are set to feature some big multi-man matches which have huge implications for WrestleMania.
The latest episode of Raw featured a Fatal 5 Way qualifying match for the Elimination Chamber in the main event, which Finn Balor and Seth Rollins both technically won. Kurt Angle later decided that both men will compete at the Elimination Chamber, and that Brock Lesnar’s challenger for WrestleMania will be decided in the first ever 7 man Elimination Chamber match.
At Fastlane AJ Styles is set to defend his title in a Fatal 5 Way match against Dolph Ziggler, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn and Baron Corbin with the winner going on to WrestleMania to defend against Shinsuke Nakamura.
The first ever women’s Elimination Chamber match also has big implications for WrestleMania as Alexa Bliss will be defending her Raw Women’s Championship against 5 other women inside the chamber.
WrestleVotes is reporting that the reason for so many multi-person matches as of late is to try and keep fans guessing on the Road to WrestleMania.
Even though WWE may be trying to throw fans for a loop, it’s been believed for a year now that Vince McMahon is dead set on having Roman Reigns face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania, so it would be shocking to see WWE change course now.
However, you can never say never in the WWE, and anything can happen on the Road to WrestleMania.
