The next WWE pay-per-view on the schedule is Extreme Rules, and once Extreme Rules wraps up on July 15th we’ll be on the road to SummerSlam.
SummerSlam is one of WWE’s biggest events of the year, so it’s safe to say that fans can expect to see more than a few title matches on the card.
Lately the Raw tag team division has been dominated by Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt and The B-Team, but it looks like the division could be going in a different direction after Extreme Rules.
Mike Johnson recently speculated on PWInsider Elite Audio that the Authors of Pain are being groomed for a title shot, which they could get at SummerSlam (via Ringside News).
“It looks like they are finally going to do something with The Authors of Pain. The “B-Team” thing is just a bridge to get to Matt & Bray Wyatt facing The Authors of Pain at SummerSlam.”
The Authors of Pain were one of this year’s most anticipated call ups from NXT, but they haven’t done much since joining the Raw roster.
Hardy and Wyatt need some serious competition for WWE’s biggest party of the summer, and it looks like the Authors of Pain may just be the perfect candidates.
