Drew McIntyre defeated Brock Lesnar to become the new WWE Champion at WrestleMania 36, and on Sunday night he successfully defended his title against Seth Rollins at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view.
After his victory Drew shook Seth’s hand, and now that McIntyre has finished up with Rollins it appears that it’s time for a new challenger to step up.
WWE has announced that Backlash will be the next pay-per-view on the schedule, and Dave Meltzer speculated on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE is going to book Drew McIntyre vs. Bobby Lashley for the event.
This week Bobby Lashley picked up a win over Humberto Carillo on Raw, and backstage he was confronted by MVP.
MVP asked Lashley why he’s fighting Superstars like Carillo instead of challenging for the WWE Championship.
WWE Backlash will air on Sunday, June 14.
