WrestleMania weekend is finally here, and on Sunday night Roman Reigns will defend his Universal Championship against Edge and Daniel Bryan on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
The build for the triple threat match has been going on for some time now, and it will be interesting to see who ends up walking away with the belt. One way or another when it’s all said and done the Universal Champion will most likely have to deal with a new challenger moving forward.
In addition to the triple threat Universal Title match there’s been a lot of talk about Cesaro vs. Seth Rollins, and Paul Heyman noted on Talking Smack that the winner of the match could be in line for a shot at the Universal Title.
“You want me to talk about The King of Swing himself, Cesaro? And The Visionary, Seth Rollins? Sure [I can pick a winner], the winner of the match. And the winner of the match will then be in line for, perhaps, a title match against the Universal Heavyweight Champion, the winner of the main event at WrestleMania tomorrow night, Roman Reigns.”
Of course Heyman is banking on Reigns to win, but it was also noted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter that if Daniel Bryan ends up winning the belt it could set up a potential Bryan vs. Cesaro match since Cesaro already has two wins over Daniel Bryan.
At this point it’s not clear who will end up walking out with the belt, but it seems that Cesaro or Seth Rollins could find themselves in the title picture following the Show of Shows. Stay tuned for updates.
