WWE SummerSlam was originally set to take place from the TD Garden in Boston next month, but WWE recently issued a statement confirming that the event will not be held at that specific venue.
SummerSlam will still take place on Sunday, August 23 this year, but WWE has yet to officially announce their plans for the location.
Now PWInsider is reporting that WWE officials are considering an outdoor location for the pay-per-view. It’s being said that the outdoor location could be used for one of the top matches, or for the whole card.
WWE officials have reportedly discussed the idea of holding SummerSlam on a beach, or a boat. If they go through with plans for a beach or a boat, it would likely be for all, or some of the matches, not just a top match.
It was also noted on Wrestling Observer Live that instead of holding the event at the Performance Center with mask wearing fans, Vince wants to do something “wacky” for SummerSlam.
