Dean Ambrose has been one of WWE’s top stars for many years now, but unfortunately fans haven’t seen him on WWE programming since December of 2017 because he’s been rehabbing a triceps injury.
Ambrose has been on a roll over the last few years winning major championships, and since The Shield split he’s spent most of his time working as a face. But it looks like that could be changing when he returns.
According to BodySlam.net, the backstage talk in WWE is that many are hoping for Dean Ambrose to turn heel when he returns to TV, and possibly enter a feud for the Universal Championship.
Whether or not this will actually end up happening remains to be seen, but there’s no denying that a heel turn could be something fresh for Dean Ambrose.
Prior to his injury he was teaming with Seth Rollins, and it was rumored that he and Seth were set to work a feud heading into WrestleMania season with Ambrose as the heel.
As of right now it hasn’t been confirmed when Ambrose will be returning to TV, but when he was first injured WWE reported that he was expected to be out of action from 6 to 9 months.
