Last year Cody Rhodes challenged Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship in the main event of WrestleMania 39, but it was The Tribal Chief who walked out with the gold when it was all said and done. Now Cody is more determined than ever to finish the story as he’s set to challenge Roman Reigns for the belt once again at WrestleMania 40.
Everyone is waiting to see if The American Nightmare will finish the story this weekend and Cody Rhodes indicated during an appearance on the Pat McAfee Show that he would like to be on both Raw and SmackDown following WrestleMania if he wins the championship.
“For me, I would want to be a present champion on both RAW and Friday Night SmackDown. I also don’t love how that Championship title looks, I don’t love it.”
The Undisputed WWE Universal Championship is currently exclusive to the SmackDown brand and has been for some time now, so it will be interesting to see if Cody does get his wish should he win the title on Sunday. Stay tuned.
