There has never been a force in WWE quite like Braun Strowman. His overwhelming popularity is really unprecedented at this point. WWE strapped a rocket to Strowman and used his extreme push as a reason to pair him with Brock Lesnar at No Mercy.
In all reality, Strowman was scheduled to go against Lesnar much earlier but that pesky elbow procedure kept The Monster Among Men out of action. So it prolonged Lesnar’s story and rescheduled the confrontation which eventually occurred at No Mercy.
But on the heels of his loss at No Mercy, Braun Strowman finds himself in the position where it’s not exactly clear how he’ll be used on the next PPV. He’s been dealing with Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in recent weeks but those confrontations could simply be placeholders for all we know.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter speculated that it appears there are a couple options for Braun Strowman at this point and they deal with placing him in a feud match against The Shield.
One of these options would see The Shield vs The Miz and The Bar being turned into a 4 vs 3 handicap match where the heel team would have the massive size-advantage of Braun Strowman on their side. But there is another option which might be even more exciting.
The Miz might be taken out of the match altogether to allow Strowman a spot in the big match. WWE picking this direction would leave The Miz open to defend his IC Title against someone like Jason Jordan if WWE wanted to give Kurt Angle’s baby boy another crack at The Miz’s title.
Either option WWE goes with will be fine if those are the options they have. The important part is WWE needs to utilize Strowman and his monstrous potential while he’s still so incredibly over.
