The next NXT TakeOver event is set to take place on June 8th and some big matches have been announced for the show. Samoa Joe is set to defend his title against Finn Balor in a cage match, American Alpha will be defending their tag team titles against The Revival and more. One popular star who doesn’t have a match on the card yet is Shinsuke Nakamura. Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that the current plan for Shinsuke Nakamura is to have him face off against Austin Aries at TakeOver.
It was also noted in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter that WWE is considering pairing Kalisto up with a female talent. The idea would be to give Kalisto someone he can team up with to face Rusev and Lana in mixed tag team matches. Lana wrestled her first match for the NXT brand last Friday at the live event in Lakeland, FL. She teamed with Mandy Rose to take on Carmella and Daria Berenato, but unfortunately for Lana her team lost.
