Recently retirement has been a very hot topic in the wrestling world as John Cena competed in his final match at Saturday Night’s Main Event, and Goldberg officially retired earlier this year.
Gunther has the distinction of being the man who retired both John Cena and Goldberg, and it looks like The Ring General could end up retiring another big name as well.
Following Gunther’s big win over John Cena on Saturday night the WRKD Wrestling account indicated that Gunther could also be stepping up to face The Beast Incarnate in his eventual retirement match. It’s worth noting that WRKD Wrestling reported back in July that Gunther was planned to be John Cena’s final opponent.

Talk of Brock Lesnar’s retirement picked up last week after John Cena hinted Lesnar could be retiring at SummerSlam in Minnesota next year during a recent interview.
“This attraction where we are going to build until he goes into the sunset, which is, I think, in Minnesota? Creatively, it’s very soon,” Cena said.
It’s been reported that Brock Lesnar’s retirement has been discussed, but it is not locked in, and the date for a potential retirement match have not been confirmed at this point.
Stay tuned for updates.
