Months ago WWE moved all of their TV tapings to the Performance Center in Orlando, FL and it was recently announced that SummerSlam will not be taking place from the TD Garden in Boston.
However, WWE has yet to officially confirm the location for the 2020 SummerSlam pay-per-view.
Now Jon Alba of Spectrum Sports 360 is reporting that WWE is exploring the idea of holding SummerSlam at the Amway Center in Orlando. It was noted that the Amway Center is officially closed until next year, but a rep said that if a deal was recently finalized word would not have passed down yet.
WWE is also reportedly interested in using the Amway Center for not just SummerSlam, but other events moving forward.
Alba went on to note that WWE has saved a lot of money on production costs due to not being on the road, so the company would likely have the money to lease the Amway Center.
There’s also speculation that if WWE does end up holding events at the arena that limited fans could return as there’s plenty of room for social distancing.
Stay tuned for updates.
