WrestleMania season is one of the most exciting times to be a wrestling fan and everyone knows that it kicks off with the Royal Rumble. This year the Royal Rumble took place from the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX and it looks like the event could potentially be heading to Orlando in 2024.
WESH 2 is reporting that on Tuesday the Tourist Development Tax Sports Incentive Committee is set to request $850,000 for the Greater Orlando Sports Commission that will be used to bid on the 2024 Royal Rumble.
If the bid is awarded and both sides move forward with holding the Royal Rumble in Orlando then it could potentially take place from Camping World Stadium on January 27, 2024.
Orange County leaders estimate that the Royal Rumble would draw 54,000 people and bring in $28 million dollars for the local area. It was noted that WrestleMania 33 which was held at Camping World Stadium in 2017 generated $181 million dollars for the region.
If the bid is not awarded then the $850,000 will be returned. Stay tuned for more updates on the 2024 Royal Rumble location as they become available.
