Goldberg hasn’t wrestled since he was defeated by Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber in February of 2022, but his in-ring career isn’t over just yet. Last year the Hall of Famer confirmed that he would be returning to WWE for a retirement match in 2025, and the wrestling world has been waiting for an official announcement.
Fightful Select is reporting that sources have said Goldberg’s retirement match is tentatively planned for Atlanta. Goldberg previously played football for the Georgia Bulldogs, and the Atlanta Falcons, and the Hall of Famer has long called Atlanta home.
It has not been announced just yet, but internally Saturday Night’s Main Event is listed for Saturday, July 12. At this point nothing is official, and it hasn’t been confirmed that Goldberg will be retiring at Saturday Night’s Main Event. However, it’s being reported that Goldberg has been discussed for that show.
It’s worth noting that during a recent interview with MySanAntonio.com, Goldberg shared an update on plans for his retirement match and indicated it would be in the south.
“It’s going to be in the South. This gives me the opportunity to put a stamp on my career in front of the people I care the most about,” Goldberg said.
Stay tuned for more updates on Goldberg’s retirement match as they become available.
