Over the last few weeks business has certainly picked up for the LWO on Friday Night SmackDown, as Santos Escobar turned on Rey Mysterio and now it seems that he has fallen out with the rest of the group as well. Even though Santos Escobar is standing alone at the moment it seems that he could be getting some backup at some point in the future.
Dave Meltzer recently noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that one of the ideas that’s been discussed is for Los Lotharios to join Santos Escobar. It was also noted that before Santos Escobar turned on Rey Mysterio and started a feud with the Hall of Famer there was talk of Los Lotharios joining up with Rey Mysterio.
Rey Mysterio was written off TV when Santos Escobar turned heel and Rey recently underwent knee surgery. The belief is that Mysterio will be out of action for six to eight weeks, and that he will pick up right where he left off with Santos Escobar when he returns.
Stay tuned for more updates on Rey Mysterio’s status and creative plans for Santos Escobar as they become available.
