It was reported earlier in the week by PWInsider that WWE is rebranding the Divas division as the Women’s division and that a new championship belt has been commissioned. It was originally reported that the new belt would be introduced on Raw the night after WrestleMania 32, but it looks like the change could be taking place even sooner.
The WWE World Heavyweight Champion and the winner of the women’s triple threat are scheduled to be a part of The Today Show on Monday morning, and it’s now being reported that the new belt will be introduced tonight at WrestleMania 32. That means we could be seeing the big butterfly belt for the very last time tonight. As far as the new WWE Women’s Championship goes, it was reported earlier in the week that the belt looks similar to the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, only smaller with a white strap.
Charlotte is set to defend her WWE Divas Championship against Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch in a triple threat match tonight at WrestleMania 32. If reports about the new WWE Women’s Championship do turn out to be true, the winner of tonight’s match will be the first woman to wear the new belt. We’ll just have to wait and see who the lucky woman is.
