WrestleMania 40 was a huge show as The Rock returned to the ring when he teamed with Roman Reigns to defeat Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in the night one main event. The Final Boss then went on to interfere in the night two main event, but he wasn’t able to prevent Cody Rhodes from winning the Undisputed WWE Championship.
The following night on the Raw after WrestleMania, The Rock made a surprise appearance when he confronted Cody Rhodes. Rock seemingly teased a future match with Cody, but The Rock’s status for WrestleMania is uncertain.
Recently it’s been reported that WWE is moving forward with the idea that The Rock won’t be working a match at WrestleMania 41. With The Rock possibly sitting on the sidelines for WrestleMania 41, WWE is currently planning for Cody Rhodes to face John Cena on the Grandest Stage of Them All. However, it’s being said that plans will likely be altered if The Rock decides to insert himself into the WrestleMania picture.
Ibou of WrestlePurists is reporting that if The Rock does decide to work WrestleMania then plans could change to John Cena vs. Gunther and Cody Rhodes vs. The Rock.
