When it comes to wrestling matches weapons can take a match to a whole new level. Over the years fans have seen many wrestlers get creative when using weapons and some have even used thumbtacks to bring pain to their opponents.
Ronda Rousey recently challenged Liv Morgan in an Extreme Rules match for the SmackDown Women’s Championship which saw Rousey get the win after she made her opponent pass out. While streaming on her YouTube channel The Baddest Woman on the Planet revealed that she pitched a spot involving thumbtacks for the match, but she was told that thumbtacks can’t be used in WWE anymore.
“I pitched the finish to be on thumbtacks. She would put down the thumbtacks and powerbomb me on the thumbtacks and then as a repeat of our finish before, I would go for the armbar on the thumbtacks and they would start counting the pin. Then I would have to push up to my one shoulder. Like into the thumbtacks to keep the armbar… Liv would be like bite her hand, trying not to tap out and pass out face down into the thumbtacks and have her hand protect the face.”
“They said we can’t use thumbtacks anymore. That legally we can’t like purposefully, like, injure people, like, cut through skin and stuff. I don’t know.”
Ronda Rousey had been feuding with Liv Morgan for months after Liv Morgan cashed in the Money in the Bank contract to defeat Ronda and win the SmackDown Women’s Championship back in July. Rousey picked up a decisive win over Liv Morgan at Extreme Rules, but only time will tell if their rivalry is over.
