There are many currently active wrestlers who have had great careers inside the squared circle, but you never know when a fan favorite might decide to hang up the boots for good.
Billy Gunn has been able to add a whole new chapter to his career thanks to his partnership with The Acclaimed, and on Saturday night Gunn & The Acclaimed challenged House of Black for the AEW World Trios Championship on Collision.
Unfortunately for Billy Gunn and his teammates House of Black retained and Billy seemed quite frustrated following the match. The WWE Hall of Famer teased his retirement when he took off his boots leaving Anthony Bowens, Max Caster, and fans around the world confused.
Billy Gunn’s wife recently addressed the retirement speculation, and she threw some fuel on the fire when she posted the following on Twitter:
“This is what retirement looks like”
It’s not clear at this point in time if this is simply and angle, or if it’s an angle leading to a real retirement for Billy Gunn, so we’ll have to wait and see how it all plays out. Stay tuned for updates.
