Samoa Joe has been out of action for some time now due to a broken thumb, and he recently took over a spot on the Monday Night Raw commentary team.
But sooner or later it’s inevitable that Samoa Joe will be returning to in-ring competition on WWE programming.
WWE taped next week’s episode of Raw from the Wells Fargo Center in Des Moines, Iowa this week, and Rey Mysterio retained his US Title by DQ when he faced Seth Rollins in the main event and AOP interfered.
AOP then tried to put Rey Mysterio through the announce table, but Samoa Joe turned face when he refused to move. The AOP then proceed to beat Joe down, and Rollins hit Mysterio with the stomp to end the show.
There’s speculation that this angle could lead to a tag team match that will see Samoa Joe & Rey Mysterio team up to face AOP.
