Chris Jericho’s status has been a hot topic among wrestling fans for months now as it’s no big secret that Jericho’s contract with All Elite Wrestling is set to expire at the end of the year. There’s been talk of Jericho returning to WWE and Jericho himself seemingly added fuel to the fire when he recently posted a video of his WWE return in 2012.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the idea in WWE is Chris Jericho will be returning to the company for a retirement tour and a Hall of Fame induction. Last weekend at Crown Jewel, John Cena put AJ Styles in the Walls of Jericho which the fans reacted to with “Y2J” chants.
There was some speculation that the chants may have helped Jericho’s bargaining power, but it’s being reported those in WWE have said that the reaction made no difference, and they are under the impression it won’t change creative plans.
Chris Jericho recently announced the next Jericho Cruise from November 7 to 11 in 2026 from Miami and it was notable that the list of guests didn’t include anyone from All Elite Wrestling. Jericho has not appeared on AEW programming since April when he dropped the ROH World Championship to Bandido at the Dynasty pay-per-view.
