As of this week, the plan was still for John Cena to get his shot against WWE World Heavyweight Champion Brock Lesnar at the 2015 Royal Rumble. There had been some speculation that the title shot may happen at TLC and plans could still change.
While Lesnar is scheduled to defend against Cena at the Rumble, he is expected to retain the title as WWE is still planning on having Roman Reigns win the gold at WrestleMania 31.
Reigns is scheduled for WWE live events in December but one WWE source in the know gave The Wrestling Observer a much longer time table for Reigns’ return this week. That could be a mix-up in communications and we should have some kind of clarification later. Even in a worst case scenario, Reigns would be back in time for WrestleMania 31 but not the Rumble.
