Last year Vince McMahon announced his retirement and shortly after it was revealed that Triple H would be taking over WWE creative. The Game has made his mark on WWE from a creative standpoint, but following Vince McMahon’s return to WWE back in January it seems that McMahon has been making changes.
Back in May it seemed that The Way had reunited when Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Dexter Lumis and Indi Hartwell all appeared on Raw together. It was also teased that Tommaso Ciampa could join the group, but so far there’s been no follow up.
During a recent Q&A session on Fightful Select, Sean Ross Sapp talked about plans for The Way, and he noted that the storyline was scrapped by Vince McMahon.
“It effectively got Vince’d, but with Vince’s situation now (the surgery), I wonder if that will finally come to fruition.”
It’s also been rumored that Triple H had plans to reunite Gargano with Tommaso Ciampa and work in the tag team division as DIY, so it will be interesting to see how they’re used in the future. Stay tuned for updates.
