It’s been a while since fans have seen Goldberg on TV as he last wrestled inside a WWE ring when he faced off against Roman Reigns at Elimination Chamber last year. The Tribal Chief managed to defeat Goldberg, but the Hall of Famer has indicated that his in-ring career isn’t over.
During a recent interview Goldberg noted that he feels WWE owes him a retirement match, but added that he had some ideas on how to make that happen on his own when he said, “You never say never, especially in wrestling, and they owe me one. That’s all I can say. I made a deal with the devil and I did my job, and they owe me a retirement match. At the end of the day, at 56, it’s not something where I’m sitting by the phone waiting for a call. I’ve got a few ideas of how to do it on my own, possibly in Israel. So never say never.”
It was recently reported that Goldberg’s deal with WWE has expired which makes him a free agent. Fightful Select is reporting that there was a pitch made for Goldberg to wrestle a match in Israel, but more details regarding the booking that was pitched are unknown at this point in time.
Tony Khan of AEW has said that Goldberg’s free agency is something for him to pay attention to and Tony also mentioned that he has a lot of respect for Goldberg. One way or another it will be interesting to see how Goldberg’s carer comes to an end if he does indeed wrestle a retirement match. Stay tuned for updates.
