Orlando has become a central location for WWE. The WWE performance center is there, NXT is taped there and WrestleMania 33 is Orlando-bound in 2017. But it looks like WrestleMania 33 won’t be the only attraction WWE is bringing to Orlando next year.
Tom Anstey of Attractions Management Magazine and Wrestling Memes reports that WWE will be building a physical WWE Hall of Fame in Orlando, FL. His sources report that the physical Hall of Fame would be open before WrestleMania 33 on April 2, 2017. The building would be replacing NBA City at Universal CityWalk.
WWE also has plans to open a restaurant similar to The World in New York City. The World was a restaurant WWE opened in 1999 where fans could go to watch pay-per-views and eat wrestling themed meals. The company would hold events at the restaurant and wrestlers would often make appearances at the location before The World closed in 2003.
A few years ago WWE commissioned artist Rod Hunt to create an illustration of what a physical WWE Hall of Fame might look like and you can check it out below. It will be interesting to see if WWE incorporates any of the designs. Something tells us they won’t be using that giant Hulk Hogan statue.
