Chris Jericho has been one of the top stars in professional wrestling for decades now and he’s been part of the AEW roster since the company first launched back in 2019. Recently there’s been a lot of speculation when it comes to Jericho’s future as his contract with All Elite Wrestling is set to expire at the end of the year.
It’s been rumored that Chris Jericho could potentially return to WWE once he becomes available and Dave Meltzer noted on Wrestling Observer Radio that there are people in the company who believe he is indeed returning.
“People in WWE believe that he’s coming to WWE, for what that’s worth. It’s up to him. There have been a lot of signs.”
Chris Jericho has not appeared on AEW programming since April and there’s been no indication in recent months that the company has any plans to bring him back to television despite the fact that he’s still under contract. In the past it hasn’t been uncommon for AEW to keep certain wrestlers off TV when it’s rumored they could be leaving as we’ve seen with names like Ricky Starks and Mariah May who have since joined NXT as Ricky Saints and Blake Monroe respectively.
Only time will tell what Chris Jericho decides to do, but with his deal expiring at the end of the year it seems that the timing could be right for the former WWE Champion to make a big return, perhaps at an event such as the Royal Rumble.
