People In AEW Reportedly “Appalled” By Recent Booking Decision

This week’s episode of AEW Dynamite was the special Winter Is Coming edition of the show, and it featured the big return of former AEW Women’s Champion Toni Storm.

The appearance on Dynamite was Storm’s first appearance on AEW programming since the All In pay-per-view back in August. Following Dynamite, Toni Storm competed in her return match when she faced off against Harley Cameron in match that was taped for Rampage.

Toni Storm has been one of the key figures in the AEW women’s division since she joined the company, so some fans were surprised to see that her return match had been placed on Rampage. Bryan Alvarez recently discussed the internal reaction to the decision on Wrestling Observer Live, and he claimed that some people in the company were “appalled” by the move.

“Do you know how many people I talked to in AEW yesterday, and every last single one of them… ‘aghast’ may not even be the right word… ‘appalled’ that Toni Storm’s return is on Rampage.

“I swear to god this is true – you could have had 200 people lined up outside Tony Khan’s door last night, one by one, all 200 of them could have gone in there and said, ‘This idea is stupid’, and do you wanna know what’d happen at the end of the night? He’d have still done it, because that’s what happens. People argue things with him every single week, and at the end of the day, he does whatever he wants.”
