Just days before AAA was set for a press conference to announce their plans for the upcoming TripleMania event, news is already coming out of the promotion that some might consider shocking. Pentagon Jr, who has been a mainstay in the organization since 2010 announced that he is leaving the company. Unfortunately for Pentagon Jr, he also must relinquish his name in the process.
From now on the Mexican professional wrestler will be known as Penta El Cero Miedo. He can’t even be Pentagon Dark, because Lucha Underground owns that name. Penta El Cero Miedo and Fenix’s tag team together will be known as the The Lucha Brothers from this point onward.
One factor that caused this decision is that Penta is not as happy as he would like to be since Lucha Underground is currently in the middle of a hiatus and doesn’t plan to begin taping again until November.
Penta isn’t the only one leaving AAA as Daga and Garza Jr made the jump with him. They made their announcement somewhat official by appearing at Konnan’s The Crash promotion show in Tijuana. Konnan also books Mysterio, Jr.
It will be interesting to see how Lucha Underground will decide to book these wrestlers from this point forward.
