Roman Reigns has been one of WWE’s top stars for years now, and on Friday Night SmackDown he’s the man to beat. Roman is currently in possession of the Universal Championship, and everyone is waiting to see if Edge will be stepping up to challenge him at WrestleMania 37.
While everyone is talking about WrestleMania 37 at the moment Paul Heyman brought up the subject of WrestleMania 38 when Big E appeared on the most recent episode of Talking Smack.
Heyman praised Big E for successfully defending his Intercontinental Championship, and he also teased the idea of Big E challenging Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38.
“Now, solidifying the title reign can get you to a position to a position for WrestleMania next year in the main event for the Universal Championship against Roman Reigns. That’s what that championship should be to you; it should be the designation of you as a great champion so you can main event at WrestleMania against Roman Reigns. The fact that you’re not going to main event this year, sir, should piss you off. Doesn’t it?”
Big E went on to say that Paul Heyman’s words motivated him, and that if Roman Reigns is still Universal Champion in 2022 then they will clash next year.
“That doesn’t piss me off. That motivates me. Everything I’ve done in the past, as incredible as that was, it will pale in comparison to what I’m about to do this next year. I’ll see and your boy in the main event of WrestleMania 2022, if he still has got the title. If he still has it, I’ll be there.”
