Paul Heyman is without a doubt one of the most notorious figures in the world of professional wrestling, but when fans think of Heyman they normally don’t think of him as an in-ring competitor. But tonight on Friday Night SmackDown Paul Heyman is set to go one on one with Adam Pearce.
Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman kicked things off with an in-ring promo, and Roman ripped on Adam Pearce for giving his spot in the Universal Title match at Royal Rumble to Kevin Owens.
Pearce made his way out to the ring, and Roman talked trash to him while Paul Heyman laughed. Pearce told Heyman that he can take the abuse from Roman, but he won’t take it from Heyman.
Roman said that it sounds like Pearce is disrespecting The Tribal Chief by disrespecting Heyman, so he handed the mic to Paul Heyman and told him to handle it. Heyman got in Pearce’s face and said he’s from New York, and he would whoop his ass. Paul Heyman then said a verbal agreement is legally binding in Florida, and he challenged Adam Pearce to a one on one match.
Adam Pearce shook his hand and agreed.
