Last week’s episode of SmackDown featured an interesting reveal as Pat McAfee confirmed that he’s the person Randy Orton’s been talking to on the phone. McAfee went off on the current WWE product as he said that the business Cody’s been leading has been terrible, and Randy Orton is going to save it.
Over the last week Pat McAfee’s inclusion in the Randy Orton vs. Cody Rhodes storyline has been heavily criticized by fans. Ahead of SmackDown this week Pat McAfee confirmed that he would be at the show and he teased a massive surprise.
Cody Rhodes was furious when he showed up to SmackDown this week, and Nick Aldis told him that he couldn’t put his hands on McAfee due to orders from “up above.”
Later in the show McAfee arrived at the arena and he got into a heated exchange with Jelly Roll before Nick Aldis broke it up. McAfee made his way to the ring and called San Jose a “s**thole.” The fans booed, so he got up on the ropes and gave them the finger. He took shots at CM Punk as he called him a “spineless bum” and accused him of being a fraud.
Pat questioned why anyone would watch WrestleMania without Randy Orton. McAfee said he made a deal with RAM trucks that will give fans 25 percent off tickets for night 2 of WrestleMania. He continued to hype up Randy Orton as Cody’s music hit.
Pat started mocking Cody’s entrance music as he sang along in a sarcastic tone. Cody told Pat that he doesn’t think he belongs here and offered to get him a Fanatics replica title, then he can go back to whoever sent him here and tell him, “Thank you daddy.”
Cody said that the entire fandom agrees they want to see Randy Orton at WrestleMania, but they do not want to see Pat McAfee. He told McAfee to go home then dropped the mic.
