Pat McAfee has been a member of the Friday Night SmackDown commentary team for some time now, and this week the blue brand rolled into the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA.
Philadelphia is known for being the home of ECW, and before SmackDown kicked off this week Pat McAfee paid tribute to former ECW Champion The Sandman when he walked out to Metallica’s “Enter Sandman” while carrying a kendo stick.
McAfee went on to smack the announce table with the kendo stick, and fans in attendance managed to capture a few videos which can be seen below.
Paul Heyman also referenced ECW this week on SmackDown after Roman Reigns defeated Montez Ford, and he insisted that the beatdown continue when he said, “My Tribal Chief, I counsel you to show Montez Ford, Finn Balor and even Brock Lesnar what happens when Roman Reigns takes it to the extreme.”
