Paige’s In-Ring Retirement Seemingly Confirmed

It is always incredibly sad when a career is cut short due to injury, especially someone like Paige. At 25-years-old the Anti Diva will not be cleared to wrestle again in a WWE ring. Michael Cole made reference to her injured neck during the Royal Rumble but only commented that it kept her from working that specific match. However, all reports seem to point to the sad fact that Paige won’t be wrestling again.

Paige has wrestled her entire life and put her body through a lot of stress in the ring. This is why all it took was one bad bump and WWE’s doctors are apparently hesitant enough about her competing that it simply won’t happen again.

Official word on Paige’s retirement hasn’t been discussed yet by WWE and it could be something they’re avoiding. But Paige wasn’t shown at the Royal Rumble at all although her entrance music was played twice when Sonya Deville and Mandy Rose made their entrances into the first-ever Women’s Royal Rumble

Lilian Garcia spoke to Trish Stratus this week on her “Chasing Glory” podcast where they discussed Paige briefly. While talking about Paige, Garcia seemed to confirm her untimely retirement.

The former WWE ring announcer said when she saw Paige at the Raw 25 show, the first thing she did was give her a big hug. After all, the two had a very intimate experience on the same podcast a short time ago where Paige had a very candid conversation with Garcia.

Lilian Garcia disclosed that WWE is going to use Paige for other things and she has learned in her experience that sometimes you should take things like this as a blessing. Things might not look too happy for Paige right now but hopefully, she will be able to remain positive and take anything she’s given and perform it with the gusto she’s always put into any angle handed to her.

Whether Paige ends up as a manager or with a backstage role in WWE, they need to do something with her and that sounds like what they’re doing. The only problem is if she’ll be happy about it since her entire life has been in a wrestling ring.

Paige was a favorite for many and the news of her retirement might be very sad, but there’s always a chance for redemption and satisfaction if you look on the bright side of life. Hopefully, that is what Paige is able to do as she experiences what could be her toughest hardship to date.
