It was reported months ago that WWE officials wouldn’t be clearing Paige for in-ring action following an injury she suffered during a WWE live event, and this week on Raw she confirmed that she won’t be returning to the ring.
It’s never easy when a wrestler has to retire from in-ring competition before they’re ready, and Paige said that announcing her retirement was the hardest thing that she’s ever had to do. Then she thanked the fans, walked up the ramp and said goodbye.
PWInsider is reporting that Paige’s appearance on Monday Night Raw was believed to be her last for some time.
As far as her future goes, the former Divas Champion is still under contract with WWE, and will be a full time member of the Total Divas cast next season. She is also expected to be heavily involved with the promotion of the upcoming film “Fighting With My Family.”
In regards to her other endeavors outside of WWE, Paige has been building up a separate brand for herself with the Saraya Store.
It’s been speculated that Paige may also end up working at the WWE Performance Center as a coach or trainer.
