A few months ago Nia Jax became one of the most controversial figures in WWE after she injured Becky Lynch during a brawl on Raw. Lynch was pulled from her match with Ronda Rousey at Survivor Series, and Nia Jax found herself on the receiving end of some major backlash on social media.
Paige revealed to the Los Angeles Times that she had to calm Nia Jax down after the incident, and she tried to help her look at the bright side.
“I had to calm Nia down from that because she was like, ‘I feel like everyone is mad!’ And I said, ‘You know what? This elevated Becky so much too. And you’re about to turn heel anyways — so who cares?
“Who cares if the internet’s mad at you? They’re always going to be mad at you! There’s a quote I love: You can be the ripest, juiciest peach, but not everyone’s always going to like peaches. It’s just one of those things.”
Things seemed to work out for Nia Jax, as she’s currently one of the top heels on the Raw brand, and she has the chance to win the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles tonight.
As for Paige, she has certainly been though her fair share of ups and downs, and fans can get a fresh look at her story when “Fighting With My Family” arrives in theaters on February 22.
